Overview - Volunteers Required!
Posted: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 9:13 PM (EST)

Volunteers are required, especially near Microsoft Head Office, to organize bi-weekly face to face meeting nights.  All that is required is that you book a room, preferably for Monday evening, and post to the discussion group to announce it.  Could be a library room or a company meeting room.  If there is a nominal charge, please let me know at emusters@theopenghighway.net.  Would love to see mini groups show up all over Toronto - east, west, north, and south!

Also volunteers are required, our community experts, to volunteer their expertise to prepare a small presentation of a .NET framework topic - a few slides and some code.  Keep it simple!  Something directly from a study book, and article on the web, or MSDN content.  Put the material up for download, so ANYONE can access it (even if they do not attend a face to face).  You could volunteer to present, or someone else could download to present to a group's location.

Topcis required include:

- Collections and Generics
- Events and Delegates
- Services (System.ServiceProcess)
- Multi-threaded applications (System.Threading)
- Configuration and Diagnostics (System.Configuration /.Diagnostics /.Management)
- Windows Installer (installer classes)
- Serialization
- File System and Bye Streams (System.IO)
- Security (System.Security /.AccessControl /.Cryptography /.Permission /.Policy /.Authentication /.Principal)
- Interoperability (COM Interop, Unmanaged DLLs, System.Reflection)
- E-mailing (System.Net.Mail)
- Globalization and culture (System.Globalization)
- Drawing and UI (System.Drawing)
- Text Handling (System.Text, System.RegularExpressions)

Ed will volunteer by taking the Services topic!
